Brenda Blethyn Ramsgate's Finest

Brenda Blethyn Ramsgate's finest star was on Radio 4's Woman's Hour this morning talking about her new film London River. It tells the story of two seemingly unconnected people who travel to London to search for their children who are missing in the aftermath of the 7/7 bombings. Brenda plays Elizabeth, a widow searching for her daughter.
You can listen to Brenda talking about her French lessons, Ramsgate and the film here. Her interview starts 1 minute in.

  1. She was on the telly too.

  2. who is this blethyn woman? Looks a bit of an old boot to me

  3. Thanks Anon 1 BBC south east for those who want to search it out.
Anon 2 how ungallant of you, any chance of your photo so readers can give you feedback or ask you for the speed dating starting in Ramsgate?

  4. Nice response, Mark, to Anon 2. Clearly someone not well informed on what is being broadcast, TV or radio, but swift with the instant appraisal.
Now a pensioner, but once a sun bronzed young man attired in khaki drill, striding the near east regions with Rommel type sand goggles and low slung side arm, I guess I would also be written off by the aforesaid scribe as an old boot or duffer. Sad how our modern society seems to worship youthful looks, wealth and celebrity but dismisses the aging contributors who did their bit in various ways.

By the way, best of luck with your aims to become the candidate of Thanet South, if rumours are to be believed.
